That Seemed Like A Lot of Rain

And it was, according to the Times:

An unseasonable downpour Wednesday set a local rainfall record, according to the National Weather Service. Nearly an inch of rain had fallen at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport by Wednesday evening, according to meteorologist Art Gaebel. That shattered the old record of 0.11 inch for Aug. 20, set in 1997.

However, total rainfall remains about 4 inches below average for the year.

That shortage may change by the end of "summer."

An over-looked part of Seattle's plastic bag fee is the phased in foam/plastic container ban. The U. of Washington (Go Huskies!) is already ahead of the curve, having gone completely compostable in the food services and dorms.

A Feel Good News Story
I always side with the wild monkey in situations like this. Go monkey, go!
