Cynical Commentary #1

Today's installment of the Times' Failing Our Sound series focuses on beaches and shorelines. Is it me or does all this sound the same, from stream to wetlands to shorelines? A vague general support for natural resources, whittled away by individual interests that lobby/engineer/sue their way around/through protections while public agencies either get hamstrung politically/financially or just lack the courage to tackle the real problems. And meanwhile, the eco keeps leaking out of the system....
