Good to Be Alive...
Did you ever have one of those nasty respiratory infections that hits so hard that although you know you'll make it through, you're not sure it's worth the ride? That was my Easter weekend. I got sick Thursday at work. Friday I cancelled everything, except the Advancing Leadership Youth Day tour of the West Hylebos. By Friday night, I was wondering whether I'd caught the flu (despite my vaccination) or, maybe a touch of Ebola or Marburg Fever. Saturday was a blur and by Sunday, keeping with the day's theme, I was starting to make a comeback, though still weak and sporting a headache that felt like someone had hit me with a golf club.
Today, I'm ready to get back to work and feel non-contagiousness enough, to do so with a good conscience. Still got a headache and my voice sounds like I'm experiencing a second (and rather late, I may say) wave of puberty. In fact, if you're starving for fun, give me a call today. After talking for more than twenty seconds my voice begins cracking and hopping up and down the octave scale. Fun, fun, fun.
Now since I had all these blog posts in my head over the weekend, but was too sick to actually sit at the keyboard and post them, I'm going to time-travel with the computer magic of back-posting. So, just play along with me and pretend that Friday and Saturday's posts were not just posted.
In the News Department, it's good to be vindicated. I always knew mom and dad gave my older brother more attention.
And, you'll rarely see a Husky (pathetic as our teams have been) like me do this, but hey, congrats to the Cougs for making it to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. I'll be cheering for the Cougs to knock off powerhouse North Carolina Thursday Night.
And, just because I feel this Monday needs a dose of something Ironic (as in, ironic, with a Capital I) and quirkily funny, here's my favorite of the three Un-Pimp My Ride VW commercials, featuring the brilliant Swedish actor Peter Stormare:
