After much deliberation and debate, the Panel of People Who Vote on These Things has elected Darwin, the Evolutionary Slug to officially serve as Official Banana Slug of the Hylebos.

On a recent trip to the park, Darwin made his request to be the official slug. There was significant debate over the issue, though, as the judges were worried about the psychological impact on the watershed's other banana slugs of singling out one slug, Darwin, above all others.

Darwin, however, has arms. That pretty much settled it. Way to go, Darwin. You are a role model for banana slugs everywhere, showing that with a little evolution it's possible to rise above the slime on the boardwalk to become a sluggie superstar.

Darwin is thrilled.

He's a bit exhausted after getting back at O'Dark Ugly last night hiking after doing all that digging.
